Dyslexia Screening

Dyslexia

Dyslexia is the name given to a condition where the brain has a hard time turning symbols into sounds. It can look very different on each student. Determining if a student may be dyslexic is extremely helpful in teaching them to read. Dyslexic students utilize very different methods to learn to read than do traditional students.

This is not a medical diagnosis.

Screening Includes:

  • 20 Batteries of the Woodcock-Johnson IV

  • Meets North Carolina Annual Testing Requirement

  • Takes 3.5 - 4 hours (Appointments are schedule to give the student a break in the middle)

  • 1 hour parent consultation 1 week later

  • Printed analysis of findings

  • Thorough documented advice on how to teach your child to read based on findings.
